EID ADHA EVENT IN ISLAM - 5 October 2011

Eid el Adha is the biggest festivity in Islam that

commemorates the wish of Abraham to sacrifice

his son Ismail as per directives from Allah.

As he was about to slaughter his son with a knife,

Allah exchanged Ismail with a lamb.

This festivity culminates after the pilgrimage to

Mecca that every capable Muslim needs to perform

once in a life time...

There are two main festivities in Islam known as

Eid.

First one is after Ramadan, after a month of fasting

known as Eid El Fitr and the second is Eid el Adha

that happens after the pilgrimage to Mecca called

Hajj.

Of the Two. Eid el Adha is a bigger festivity than the

Eid el Fitr. It was during the pilgrimage, our prophet

delivered the last sermon to the Muslims, a great

tenet of Islam.

Both men and women are allowed into Mecca. In

the case that one intends to perform religious

rituals, they have to clean themselves in specified

locations just outside the city of Mecca and wear a

special outfit.

greeting of Eid Mubarak is for both eids.

In stating mubarak (congratulations), you wish to

congratulate one another for being able to attend

the ceremony...
