ABOUT ANNA HAZARE FROM INDIA

Indian media is discussing this issue from past 3 months. Social activist anna hazare along with his team sat on fast unto death on 5 April 2011 with demand of introducing a new law " Lokpal Bill " . That fast led to nationwide protests in support of Hazare. The fast ended on 9 April 2011, the day after all of Hazare's demands to introduce the law and include five civil society member in drafting committee of lokpal bill were agreed by the government of India. The government issued a gazette notification on the formation of a joint committee (of government and civil society representatives) to draft an effective Lokpal Bill.

At the end of negotiations , government agreed on 34 demand out of 40 demands but rest 6 demands become a major cause of second protest in 16 august . Those 7 demands were to (1) Keep PM under a ambit of lokpal (2) Keep higher judiciary under a ambit of lokpal (3) CBI and CVC under ambit of lokpal (4) Lokayukta in state government with this lokpal (5) Lower Bureaucracy under ambit of lokpal (6) MP's under ambit of lokpal (7) Punishment

Out of these all seven disagreement PM and higher judiciary issue is most controversial issue. Many believes that PMO is the most powerful office of the country and for smoother running of country PMO must be free from any probe and Taking higher judiciary under ambit of lokpal will create pressure on SC judge to perform their duty independently and Removal of judges should be made through judges accountability bill . While team anna believes that PM himself holds many ministry and he is the head of the all ministry so keeping him out of lokpal ambit will not root out corruption.

82.5% Demand's of Anna Janlokpal is accepted by Govt n remaining 6 n the 7th Punishment time is arguable.. In 6 of them Prime minister under ambit of Lokpal is more controversial.
