My dear friend Rial about two hurt souls

My dear Hisham and Haminia:

First of all, I am pleased to have seen the transparency in a
budding relationship between two good souls. Let me share
with you all my analysis of the development. A cultural tenet
in one area can be a cultura
...l taboo in another with a total
different sense. One of them is the crossing of legs, when sitting
with a stranger for the first time in a professional setting is a
welcome in the West but a slap in the Middle East.

I would say that comparing someone a "Shadow" as per Asian
culture, is someone very close who is always by his side at all
times in good and bad times. Therefore, I can safely conclude
that Hisham did not have any ulterior motives, when he had
used the word "Shadow". Knowing Hisham tells me that he does
not harbor any hatred towards anyone including his critics.
That is what I have learnt of him through the days of ours being
friends.

In the European culture, "Shadow" is a body waiting on the
wings to overtake the incumbent. Like the shadow cabinet
in the UK. There are no derogatory meaning of the word shadow
nor any sub-standards. Hisham's notion of the word has been
to demonstrate the closeness of the two souls and not to degrade
you Haminia.

Please give him the benefits of doubt and have an open mind to
understand from him what he really meant. He seems to have
done a good job with his explanation so far. Do not cut a budding
friendship between two souls. Give it enough time to understand
each other better.
I would suggest the following as I always do to
friends and family.

Refrain from any direct communication for a week, then at mid
night, spend some time meditating and while meditating, think
of the other side and the good moments you both had. Forgive the
other side for whatever they seem to have meant in good or even
bad faith. Pray to the Creator for a sense of good will to prevail
and then have a deep sleep.

Talk directly to someone that you both love and respect and open
yourself up about your feelings..........That should do the work...
