My dear friend Hisham explains to me what I asked him ...

Haminia,

Sorry dear for so long a silence. I was too much busy, still is. I go to university at 7:30a.m and return home at 5:30p.m. After that no energy remains to reply anything. That's why I decided to quit facebook for some time, but Orin feels sad when I am not here :)

Now for your inquiry, Muslims are those whose religion is Islam. So by birth, I too am a Muslim, though now I have no particular religion and believe in all their best parts. You know, those who follow Christianity are called Christians, and those who follow Islam are called Muslims. The things you have heard about Muslims are partially true and partially wrong. Some countries are extreme about Islam, and they tyrannize this religion and become some racists, like Afghanistan, Iran, Irak, Pakistan, Turkey etc. There are violent Muslims as well as non-violent Muslims, like there is violent and extreme Christians of Vatican as well as non-violent ones in secular countries. You know, no religion is absolutely bad, rather it is the adaptation and Mal-practice that make them appear bad. Any extremism is ignorance. :)

Ramadan is a practice that teaches how to be self-restraint. Not eating foods and water is a small part about Ramadan, but the main thing it teaches is that ignoring everything towards which we feel temptation. In this month, Muslims try not to say, hear, see and do bad things. They are supposed to be all like saints. But you know, everybody has taken the fasting system as the main point of Ramadan, and shamelessly do various bad things. I believe any person belonging to any religion can celebrate Ramadan. It doesn't only mean the fasting of the stomach, but it means more importantly fasting of the mind from everything that is bad. Ramadan is celebrated by those who are with truth every month. It can be celebrated round the whole year by being good to all and being honest to truth and divinity and God. You can celebrate it too my dear. Though it is not in traditional Islamic teaching, but I believe that helping the helpless, and being simply too is similar to observing Ramadan.

It is very sad what happened to your team in that mosque. Like I told you, there are some extremists in every religion, and consider them ignorant from the true teaching of God.

Last bt not the least, I missed you a lot. I missed your blessings these few days.

Hisham Nazer

Love you my twin soul. God bless you ♥
