Old motives work in our present psyche, and whatever we think, is the criticism of our action past.
In this course one may get despaired because one may lament, as most of us do, over the past, and think of some impossible futures to overcome it. This happens for the dispersion of 'ideas' when the mind doesn't have philosophical... authenticity.
Leaps must be there, because in 'aesthetic level' a man's ideas are most distracted, illusioned by temporary 'beauty', and fails to distinguish reality from appearance.
In 'Ethical level', a man does what his society and fellow men expect him to do. This is the opposite of going inside the soul, knowing it more intricately. Here man depends upon 'celebrated' ideas, when many of these are not authentic.
In the last 'Religious level' (here religious doesn't render to any traditional idea of faith), a man affirms the God, only when he has committed all the previous leaps and has known the obvious connection among all realities.
Here there is no doubt of the mind because 'unity' is there in his mind, learned from the conscious contemplation of the 'is'.
This God even is not any traditional God. Here He's the idea of Unity, purity and Perfection.
