I have all of Cicero's writings and he was a great man.
He was one of the first to speak out for the common
man and protect indiviual liberties.
His Verrine Orations otherwise known a his "Orations
against Verres" were beautiful condemnations against
a governor who had pludered his province.
Cicero took the lead prosecution of a man who became
grossly weathly as governor by raping hs citizens of
their belongings. He fought valliantly for the common
man.
Cicero's orations were so brilliant by the end of his
Verrine Orations that Verres did not even provide a
defense.
Verres lost all that he had gained by his illegal
plundering of his citizens and was exiled from the
empire.
Cicero was a brilliant orator, philosopher, and
humanitarian."
