The event is perpetual, any time you go their you will find the same number of people, new faces every time. Hari=God and Dawar=Door. That means a door to God. Devotees believe that the river Ganga is their mother as it brings life to living beings in the form of sacred waters. In Hinduism God is seen everywhere and in everything and in every being. Also from thousands of years the Hindus had been putting the remains of their dead relatives in this river and so it gives the impression of meeting all of them. "

Can you tell me, please if the amazing beautiful and attracting for me lights are burning day and night in Haridwar ? I can see that they were lighting during the day and it is very interesting for me... I know that the lights burn only in the evening or by night in Europe !
If the lights burn also by day it means much more from the
spiritual point of view...is there a connection with the Light of the Sun at the Door to God ? Anyway the lights are heavenly and all the atmosphere there is very good for heart and mind, also for the body if the people take a bath in Ganga, it is a refreshing moment in their life spending time next to the river...it can be seen !
I suppose that so many people must sleep in some hotels when they go to Ganga and I can see many buildings like beautiful castles on both sides of the river. Are they used for accomodation ? Are there many restaurants to offer the tourists the necessary meals daily ? Does Haridwas have an international airport or how can the tourists from abroad arrive there ?
Please, forgive me for so many questions but I work in tourism and I am interested very much in everything is attracting me as beauty .
India is very far away from Romania and the Romanians don't choose their holidays to spend in this country but I think that India is a very touristic place for all the people, no matter the distance. Everything is different from our life and it is very interesting to be seen and known.
The Indian culture, tradition and religion are different from ours and I started learning about India since I first came to face book where I met hundreds of Indians who sent me many videos with music and very few with live images from YouTube.
I must congratulate you because you are the first Indian from about 600 who sent me a very real and amazing beautiful and interesting video with very good explanations. May I post your comments on my blog at the department INDIA ? "

"Hamina, the lights are burnt mainly during the worship time at dusk when the songs in praise of God are sung and small burning lights on floaters made of leaves along with flowers are set to sail on the flowing water.
There are many hotels on the bank of Ganga from very economical to five stars. I doubt whether it has an international airport, it would have to be checked from the net, there is an air port in Jolly Grant which is not far from Haridwar, about may be a drive of 20 minutes.
